Flying

Lately K1 has been wearing this little bitty cape that came attached to some Superman pajamas he outgrew long ago.  I'm not even sure where he found said cape.

This morning while playing with a Robin (from Batman) action figure he stopped, looked at me, and said, "Mom, I want a real cape."

"Sure thing, buddy.  I'll put it on your Christmas list." I replied.

K1 gives me this funny little side eye and says, "Well, Mom, if I have a real cape then I can fly like Robin.  Right?"

I bust out laughing.  How could you not?  I told him that probably wouldn't be the case and left it at that.  Although I am making a mental note to keep an eye on him when he does get his 'real' cape. You know, in case he tries to jump out of his window or something.

I have a preschooler!

Where has the time gone?

K1 started preschool today!  He was beyond ready.

Normally he will ride the bus to school from daycare and back again, but I took him in this morning.

He got to sit at the same table as his buddy B.  B will get to ride the bus with him on the way home everyday.  They are so excited.

K1 was a little leery of me leaving, but said goodbye and that was that.

Since Mr. Bin is still working out of town we had to call him and send pictures this morning.

When he was done at school I left work so I could video tape him getting off the bus.  I'm so glad I did.  The video captured every emotion of the day.  K1 was so cocky to his friends at daycare.  "I got to ride the school bus" attitude to everyone.  Such excitement.  (I would love to post the video here, but K1 has a name tag on with his full name and I would have to blur it)

I can't wait to go pick him up from daycare and hear more about his day.  Let's hope tomorrow goes just as smoothly as today!

K1

I call my boys K1 and K2 in real life sometimes.  Not regularly, but they answer to the moniker.

Until recently that is.  K1 all of a sudden wants to be K2.  I told him it doesn't work that way, he came first.  The little stink actually threw a fit.

Who doesn't want to be #1?

This kid evidently...
Did I mention he likes pirates?

If you ever go to the Dells and eat at Crabby's because it's pirate themed and your kid likes pirates, be warned.  The pirates move and sing and scare the ever loving shit out of kids under 4.  Then, you have to go sit in a so-hot-you-could-cook-an-egg van with your children and wait for everyone else to finish eating.

Then, I asked K1 if he still wanted a pirate birthday party he said yes.  When asked if he still liked pirates he said, "Yes, but I don't like real ones."  Like duh, mom.

So the pirate party is still on.  See some of our party favors...
The bandanna, not the balloons.  Sleepy pirate.

Sometime soon I'll get a post up about vacation.

Riding the train at Mt Olympus

Breakfast at Paul Bunyans

Look at that brave little boy in the back car of the roller coaster.  When he got off the ride he said, "That was fun, but I don't want to do it again."

Not a vacation until the Mr. is in bed with his in-laws.

Guard Your Nuts

W were sitting in my parents drive way watching the boys roll hula hoops back and forth.  Mr. Bin picks up a ball-toss-thingy my brother and I used to play with and asked what you were supposed to do with it.

My mom promptly grabs it to show him how to toss it.

She winds it up.  Lets it go.  It lands directly in my dads lap.  And by lap I mean crotch.

The look on my mom's face was priceless.  She was about to loose it and let her laughter out, but remained calm.

My dad just got up and walked in the house not a saying a word or making a sound.

I'm sitting there, shoulder's shaking, trying not to laugh.

I take one look at my mom and we both crack up.  We're crying, we're laughing so hard.

We collect ourselves and go back to playing with the boys.

After a few minutes, my dad has still not returned to the driveway.  So, what's Mom do?

She tells K1 to go ask Grandpa if his wiener's okay.  Exact words.

K1 walks to the back door.  Doesn't open it.  Just screams.

K1: "HEY GRANDPA! IS YOU'RE WIENER OKAY?"

Now, we're about rolling on the ground.

K1: "IS IT YES OR NO?"

Mind you the whole neighborhood can hear this.

K1: "GRANDPA IS YOU'RE WIENER OKAY?"

K1: "OKAY, JUST CHECKIN'!"

He comes back to us.

K1:  "Yep, Grandpa's wiener is fine."

Hilarious.

Phone Photo's

As I was getting out the 3T stuff for K2, K1 demanded he wear his old jammies.  Only 2 sizes to small.

The Mr. and Mrs. at our friends wedding.

Found some eye patches for K1's birthday party.  Arrgh.
Fell asleep on the way home.  I love that K1 has the eye patch on.  Makes me smile.

We're going on a trip!

Last week my dad called me to see if my family was still interested in going to Wisconsin Dells this summer.  I told him heck yes we want to go.  So we both flip open our calenders.  Hmmm?  Well, Huh?  Wouldn't you know it.  School starts in 3 weeks!

My little baby, K1, will start preschool in 3 weeks!

Anyway there were about 3 days in those 3 weeks that worked for all of us.  So guess where I'm going on Sunday?

The Dells!

We got together and found where we wanted to stay, then crossed our fingers that they'd have rooms available. They did!  We're going to Mt. Olympus and staying at Mykonos on the same property.

My Sister-in-law is even going to be able to come with us.  K1 is so excited for his Aunt A to join us.

I feel like putting exclamation points at the end of every sentence, but I'm stopping myself.  I'm just so excited!
I'm seeing us putting the boys to bed and then leaving my parents in charge so Mr, Aunt A, and I can go ride go-carts and rollercoasters at night.

We're also going to do some fun things for K1.  He loves trains so we're going to go ride on a train and go to a restaurant that delivers your food on a train.  Then, we're going to ride the Ducks and possibly go horseback riding.  Other than that we'll probably just stay at our resort.

By just stay at our resort I mean, our resort that has indoor and outdoor waterparks and amusement parks (rollercoasters included) and go-cart tracks! <---exclamation point.

I don't know if I'm excited for my kids or myself.  Probably both.

I'll post pictures next week.

Arms Like Mommy's

This morning as I was strapping K1 into his carseat he says,

K1 - "Mommy, I want big arms like you."

Me- "Uh, what do you mean?"

K1 - "I want big arms just like yours."

Me - "Big arms like big muscles, or big arms that are fat?"

K1 - "Big muscles."

Good answer little one, good answer.

He watched me do a bootcamp style work out this morning so I think he had muscles on his mind.  That paired with the fact that I have a sleeveless shirt on today and he could see my bulging biceps upper arms.

Friday's Photo's From My Phone

Say cheese.  This is what I get.  As soon as I put my phone down he started cracking up.  Another blogger calls this "da business"

K1 is like "WTF, you're really letting him do this?"

While installing new windows you get lots of flies in your house.  When you let your 3 year old have the fly swatter this is what happens.

That would be the rind from the Parmesan cheese.  Um, Yum?

This is how I make pizza pockets.  Totally messy.

Wad the above picture up into balls and you get this.  I like these better than pretty pockets because you get more pizza flavor and less crust or bread action in every bite. Notice I'd already eaten a couple.  They're very good reheated after being frozen.

Hot Pockets

I've been loving me some Hot Pockets lately.
Mainly the pizza variety.

I get so darn excited when I go home for lunch and realize there are no leftovers for me to eat.

Hot Pocket!

I've made my own homemade version of the hot pocket.  While mine taste good the cheese consistency just isn't the same.  I love the store bought version.

Hmmm...Since my dinner plans have changed maybe I'll try a different version of homemade pizza pockets tonight.

I'll post pics and findings later this week.

Yum!

It's Monday, Yo!

Happy Monday!!!

Mr. Bin left this morning for the week.  His job doesn't normally take him away from home, so we're not used to him being gone.  I spent the weekend cooking things for him to take with him.  He'll eat good this week.  I made him breakfast pockets, homemade frozen pizza, and marinaded meat chunks for him and the guys to cook tonight.  One of the other guys wife made some food too, so they should be set.

K1 started Sporty's 4 Shorty's today.  It's a summer rec program that goes over all sorts of sports.  Today they did an obstacle course.  We learned that K1 needs to work on skipping and the crab walk.  We skipped home.  He still needs to work on it.

Tonight Grandma is going to watch K2 so K1, Grandpa, and I can go see Cars 2.  K1 is super excited.  We've been to busy to go to the movie until now.  Plus, it's in our tiny town theater so it only costs $2 for adults and $1 for kids.  Can't beat that.

Wish me luck as a single mom this week!

Friday's Photo's From my Phone

Mr. Bin (right) and his brother

Brothers

Mr. Bin was out of town for work and drank all the beer before he left, leaving me with an empty carton.  Mommy needed a drink so Grandma saved the day and brought me one.

K1 wanted to wear my glasses

Can you see a resemblance?  No. Me either.

Friday's Photo's From My Phone

I've been debating on how to start this blog.  Today I decided I'm just going to dive in and get things going.

Thus, begins Friday's Photo's From My Phone.  Every Friday I'll share with you a few pictures off my phone.  Random, sometimes boring pictures, that otherwise might not see the light of day.  Enjoy!

The boys' lawn chairs have been sitting on the back porch for a while now.  Just this morning they discovered them.  I took this as we were going out the door for daycare.

We went to the Zoo this weekend where I fed the llama because my boy's are pansy's and wouldn't go near it.

K2 and Mr. Bin riding the train at the zoo.  Toot-Toot!
