A day in the life

I’m not sure what made me get out my camera on this particular morning.  It was the Saturday after homecoming, Mr. Bin was working.  The boys had been up sick in the middle of the night.  Top bunk puker.  What.  What.
Our tiny town lost a football player in a car accident that week. Number 73.  The boys sick little faces with the rough football sticker under their eyes needed documenting.

Poor little miss didn’t feel great either, but she’s always happy, happy, happy.

These next few pictures are from the next weekend.  Big news at our house, after six years of scrubbing and swearing about the old toilet in our upstairs bathroom I caved and bought a new one.  No pictures of actual toilet. You're welcome.  However, I do have pictures of the boys inside the toilet box.   A great shape and sturdy design make it the perfect place to curl up and play on your Kindle.

Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed?

Here's a random question for you.

Do you sleep with your closet doors open?

At our house we DO sleep with the closet door open.  This is mainly due to the type of closet it is.  A small walk-in closet with a window.  If I sleep with a window in our room open it's usually that window in the closet.  It's up a little higher and I feel like it gives a bit more privacy while also allowing air to circulate.  We leave the door open in the winter as well.

In other places that we've lived I've always, always, had to have the closet door closed.  Then again all of my previous closets were the bifold door type.  The closet in our room has an actual door that matches the rest of the doors in our house, but I think the main deciding factor is the window.  The kids closets are the same except for no window and I always keep their doors closed.

Have you ever consciously thought about whether your closet door was open or shut?  I'm usually OCD about things like this.  Very yes or no.  Not usually both.

Food for though, yo.  Food for thought.

Sweet Miss C

My niece I is 9 months old and walking.  Miss C and her are the same size.  We're so excited to see these two little girls grow up together.

C was working on her sitting, but was more interested in eating her toes.

Waiting for her turn in the tub.

First HOT day of the year.  The bottom picture is C rolling over.  Such hard work.

Hot, ya'll.  Considering less than 2 weeks ago there was snow on the ground.

Mothers Day fun with K2.

First time painting her nails.

K2 was being unusually quiet upstairs so I decided I better go check on him.  There he was just playing with blocks.  He'd made these super impressive structures so, of course, I snapped a picture to show Mr. Bin.  When I showed the picture to Mr. Bin he was impressed.  A little later I caught him giggling and he wouldn't tell me what was so funny.  He admitted he built the towers for K2 before he came downstairs.  Can you believe he was going to let K2 get all the credit!

Minnesota and hair cuts

We had a great weekend spending time in the Twin Cities.  We went up to see Alyson's choir concert and ended up celebrating Cinco De Mayo.  We saw a man in a wheelchair almost get flattened on Cedar Ave.  Something the Mr and I will not soon forget.

**
We were at a stop light in the turn lane.  The cars going straight had a green light.  We watched a man in a wheelchair cross the intersection in front of the cars with a red light.  Then he turned and continued on into the traffic that was flying through the intersection without looking up.  He is sooooo lucky that the person coming through the light was paying attention.  Mr. Bin and I were screaming.  We thought he was a done for.  When we turned into a residential area a short time later we saw him rolling down the sidewalk and were so happy to see he was okay.  We taught K1 a great lesson about crosswalk safety that day.

Mr. K1 decided to ditch the Beiber hair for the summer.  I miss it already.  K2 decided to grow his hair out so they've switched hair styles.

Post haircut run across the walking bridge

They didn't want to look at me...The water is really high right now.

Waiting for the school bus (before haircut)

I laid Miss C on the rug for a quick picture.  The timer went off for the mac-n-cheese on the stove so I went to move it off the burner.  I came back to this...

She was rolling out the door!

Miss C's first time out of the state.

Took the boys to Edinborough Park this weekend.  It's like McDonalds Play Place on crack.  It's five stories high with all kinds of tunnels and slides.

I was a 'yes, mom' and climbed all the way to the top with the boys.  Only a couple of times, but the boys thought it was cool I went in to play with them.

Waving and running

I think I taught the little lady how to wave ...

Best view in the house

After going to his cousin's track meet, K2 really wanted to run on the track.  I took him up there yesterday and he ran a mile and a half!

Miss C enjoyed the ride while we walked.

Up to Date

This is my attempt at getting this blog up to date...
Miss C on the day she was born, then weekly through 4 weeks (such a happy girl).

Miss C 4 months down to 1 month

Miss C this week.

This picture makes me happy.  Miss C is nursing.  Something I worked so hard for.

K1 refused to latch on despite our attempts, so I pumped every bottle he had for his first year of life.
K2 nursed in the beginning. I went back to work when he was 4 weeks old and then he just preferred the bottle.  So I pumped every bottle for his first year of life as well.

Miss C latched on right away.  Then, we got thrush.  It hurt so f*#$ing bad.  Cracked and bleeding nipples.  Every time she nursed it felt like glass shards coming out of my nipples.  No fun.  I pushed through it and am so happy I did.  I'm going to nurse her as long as she'd like.  I hope to keep it up until she's two.  Just at nap time and bed time after a year though.  She'll get a cup most of the time.  I'm not going to whip it out and the park while she's eating fruit snacks or anything.

My three little buddies at the Easter Egg hunt.

The boys have adjusted well to having another little person in the house.  Most of the time they could care less that she is even there.  Every once in awhile they stop and talk to her, more K1 than K2.

K1 says - She loves me. She won't let me go.

She spends way to much time in the ol' neglectoroo.  She loves it.

Cankles - she works he little socks off every time she's in there.

We're a lovely bunch.

Now hopefully I can manage at least weekly updates from here on out.
