Dishwasher

For the first time in my life I have a dishwasher.  And it's AH-MAY-ZING!  Amazing.  Installing a new dishwasher also means removing two kitchen cabinets (okay 1 1/2), which means rearranging most of the kitchen.  Not fun. Half of the contents of my kitchen are still sitting on my dining room table waiting for me to decide where it's new home will be.

K2 was really into helping

Which brings me to my Christmas tree.  Since Mr. Bin has been busy working on the dishwasher in his spare time the Christmas tree was still up.  All the decorations had been put away, we just needed to take the darn tree down.

All of a sudden there's a knock at the door.  I go to see who it is.  Never mind that I'm in my pajama's and braless at 3:00 pm.  It's an older lady from church who invites herself in.

Uh, can I help you.

She just stands there and takes in all the chaos around her.  Kitchen contents spilling off the dining room table, Christmas tree still up, me in pajamas and unshowered at 3:00 pm. Finally she asks me if we'd like to participate in the Tour of Homes.  It took everything I had not to laugh in her face.  I politely let her know that in a few (ten) years when we have completed a few more projects we would gladly participate.

Flying

Lately K1 has been wearing this little bitty cape that came attached to some Superman pajamas he outgrew long ago.  I'm not even sure where he found said cape.

This morning while playing with a Robin (from Batman) action figure he stopped, looked at me, and said, "Mom, I want a real cape."

"Sure thing, buddy.  I'll put it on your Christmas list." I replied.

K1 gives me this funny little side eye and says, "Well, Mom, if I have a real cape then I can fly like Robin.  Right?"

I bust out laughing.  How could you not?  I told him that probably wouldn't be the case and left it at that.  Although I am making a mental note to keep an eye on him when he does get his 'real' cape. You know, in case he tries to jump out of his window or something.
